Hi this is Jody King-Colegrove with Quantum Techniques, the most comprehensive, diagnostic, form of energy medicine in the world today. I work with people all over the world, over the phone, helping them discover why they’re having health issues and what they can do about it.
I want to talk about kids today. A lot of times, kids, they have tests, they have difficult teachers, they have situations where there are other kids in school they may not get along with. I’m always dealing with my child and helping him calm down in a situation when he deals with homework and things like that. These are tools that you can use to help your child calm down.
The first one is telling him to breathe. A lot of times I say, “Hey, if you’ve got some situation that is really frustrating, just kinda sit back a little bit, kinda go inside yourself, and then breathe. And think about inhaling your breath for five seconds, holding it for five seconds, and then exhaling for five seconds.” There’s an amazing amount of research that talks about how that is really calming to the whole nervous system – it helps your mind calm down, and really gets you back in focus. That’s really important to do.
The second one is to read the QT trauma release technique. You can find the trauma code on our website. Some of our practitioners put it on the back their business cards. I show it on pamphlets and things like that. I’ll go through the trauma sequence with you, so you can help your child:
The first one is, EB for eyebrow. Then you have index finger, little finger, SH for side of hand, eyebrow, eye, MF for middle finger, SH, index finger, outside of eye, and then it’s under the arm, and finally the collar bone. Again, those points are, EB, IF, LF, SH, EB, E, MF, SH, IF, OE, A, C. Your child could have that written on the back of a business card in his pocket. He can read it or he can run his finger across the text. This helps him calm down before taking a test, dealing with situations during recess, dealing with the teacher, anxiety before going into a class, having to go talk to the principal, etc. It’s a great technique!
Another technique is to meditate. We talked about breathing, which can be a form of meditation. Having the child take enough time to center back and find some mantra is helpful for them. This leads to another technique which is a prayer or an affirmation, which is “I can do it,” “I’m capable,” or “I’ve got this.” Find something that the child can really resonate with and have that be his mantra, so that would be the affirmation that he can say. Ideally, meditating and keeping the mind quiet is the goal.
Those are all things that you can do to help a child calm down when they’re having to deal with situations at school. It’s good to talk about that before they’re in a situation so they know what to do beforehand. I will be the first one to realize and to recognize that sometimes, as a grownup, it’s easy to do that, but to get kids to do it is a little bit harder. Once you’ve practiced it, sometimes it makes it a little be easier.

If your child is having stronger issues and things aren’t working, it could be something like ADHD which may not allow the child to concentrate in school.
