Blood pressure meds notoriously cause brain fog, lethargy and feeling uninspired, so it is prudent to try a protocol with no side effects and one that actually strengthens your system before resorting to traditional medications. If you are borderline or pre-hypertensive, there are a number of non-pharmaceuticals which often normalize the blood pressure. Usually they are a combination of blood pressure herbs and cardiovascular system strengtheners.
Here are two of my favorite protocols:
1. Magnesium and Crataegus
Magnesium has many beneficial properties for aging individuals besides lowering blood pressure, including:
- calming nerves and anxiety
- aiding with sleep
- calming muscle spasms
- increasing calcium absorption and enhancing bone density
- lowering blood pressure
- strengthening the cardiovascular system
Crataegus, or Hawthorne, strengthens the heart and vascular system.
2. Carditone and Arjuna Heart by Ayush Herbs
Carditone lowers blood pressure.
Arjuna Heart strengthens the heart and cardiovascular system.
